A Touch of Orange

I walk past this derelict pier most days when I walk the dog, there is often a heron perched on it, although she inevitably takes flight before I can capture a photo of her! I took this picture today because of the colours, there is vivid fresh green, mixed with darker forest green and the deep greeny/grey of the water, the orange seaweed adds contrast, and the bleached wood and shore give a hint of the history of this scene. A perfect autumn colour palate.

I think painting furniture orange is a bold statement, but here nature shows that a bit of orange or ochre is a perfect match for a range of colours, not bold, just the colours of life.
